To streamline the checkout flow for simple orders, it would be great to automatically apply a shipping method to an order when it meets certain conditions.

Use case:

IF an order only contains product variation type A,
AND IF item quantity is LESS THAN 'x',
THEN 'default' shipping method is applied to order.

This makes sense for both 'Flat Rate' and 'Flat Rate Per Item' shipping methods. Ideally the default shipping method would be applied when 'Add to cart' is clicked, or perhaps when the /cart page is loaded.

Part of this solution may be to set a "requires profile" option which allows orders to load without a shipping profile. Something like this is done in tests.
